Between 12th and 19th of July I’ve attended a spontaneous expedition to Tatarstan and Southern Urals. The first stop was near Gar’ village in Northern Tatarstan, a republic in the Middle Volga. The locality was a dry sandy pine forest.
There was a profundity of Large Mountain Grasshoppers (Stauroderus scalaris). Before this, I’ve only seen them in the French Alps and Tver’ region of Russia:
