Between 2010 and 2013 I have visited Russia, my original country. Now that the winter is here and not a lot happening wildlife-wise, I’ll put some posts with Russian photographs, which I have remastered now.
On the 10th of April I’ve visited a friend of mine’s country house, among the vast peat bogs of Meshchera Lowland. Early April is when the spring comes to Moscow region.
As the snow thaws away, the hibernators emerge, like this Small Tortoiseshell (Aglais urticae):
