A mostly cloudy day with some sunny spells, +14° C. Been to Sheepleas near East Horsley.
Found two Devil’s Coach-horses (Ocypus olens) under a log:
Sheepleas
After Barnsthorns Wood went to Sheepleas, south of Horsley.
The Sun disappeared and most of the insects didn’t show up. Saw a Grizzled Skipper (Pyrgus malvae), but couldn’t get a shot.
At least got a good photo of a male Dingy Skipper (Erynnis tages):
