Box Hill

A warm, mostly sunny day, +25° C. Went to Box Hill near Dorking.
It was good to see shitloads of Adonis Blues (Lysandra bellargus) on the southern slope. Males were chasing each other in small groups.

Box Hill

A very sunny, warm but not hot (+23° C) day, a little bit windy. Went to Box Hill.

Silver-spotted Skippers (Hesperia comma) are quite numerous, but very locally:

Fresh second brood Adonis Blues (Lysandra bellargus), however, are ubiquitous on downland slopes, and are currently the commonest species of Blue there:

Box Hill

Been to Box Hill today, the weather is brilliant! Warm but not too hot, quite sunny and no wind.
Adonis Blues (Lysandra bellargus) aren’t particularly common. Saw several males and this female as it was choosing a place for a night’s roost:

Seen quite a few Bee Orchids (Orchis apifera). They are doing well, apparently:
