Been to Mitcham Common today.
A male Broad-bodied Chaser (Libellula depressa):
A male Blue-tailed Damselfly (Ischnura elegans) was hunting the numerous Cydia ulicetana torts around a gorse bush quite a distance away from the pond:
Mitcham Common
After Morden Hall Park, took a tram to Mitcham Junction, had a lunch in a pub and proceeded to Mitcham Common.
Not as lively as previous place, but still not bad.
At the moment it is ruled by Small Coppers (Lycaena phlaeas), they are everywhere!
Lovely rubbish tips
Went to the worst part of Mitcham Common and Beddington landfill site. A typical ruderal waste tip, with plenty of Goat’s Rue (Galega officinalis):
